Electric and Hybrid vehicles are changing the way we drive — and mastering them gives you a real edge on the road. Our hands-on training day is designed to make you confident, efficient and fully prepared to handle modern EVs and Hybrids with ease. On the day, you will learn how to:

Drive with confidence in EV and Hybrid vehicles – Experience how modern electric and hybrid cars really feel on the road from instant acceleration to intelligent regenerative braking, helping you develop safe and efficient driving habits from the start.
Master charging with ease – Learn everything you need to know about charging at home and on the go, including using public charge points, understanding charger speeds and following simple best practices to keep your journeys stress-free.
Go further with smarter planning – Build confidence in managing real-world driving range, discover how to maximise efficiency and learn how to plan longer trips using built-in EV and Hybrid technology.

This course is perfect for any driver who requires an induction into operating and driving an Electric Vehicle. Whether you're a new or experienced driver, our course will provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate an EV safely and confidently.

All experiences are hosted at Donington Park, Castle Donington, Derby DE74 2RP

What do I need to know?

Minimum age is 17 years – with a full valid driving licence
There will be a maximum of 2 other participants in the vehicle with you
This experience will last approximately 1½ hours
All dates are subject to availability

What's included?

Introduction and safety briefing with a fully trained instructor
Approximately 1½ hours advanced driving experience on the public highway, including approx. 20 minutes where you will be driving the vehicle yourself.

Age

There is a minimum age of 16 years old.

Height, Weight and Health

Minimum Height: 147cm
Maximum Height: 198cm
Maximum Weight: 114kg
Participants should be in reasonable health.

Licence Requirements

Suitable for all types of drivers. Those who haven't yet passed their test must be trained to a competent level — we'll need evidence from a driving instructor.

Guests

Guests are unable to spectate this activity. However, they may wait at the reception area or use the on-site café when open.

We'll then send an e-voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient. Please note, buying an e-voucher online does not secure the experience – yourself or the participant can call the team to book the day and time.

The voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of issue, and the experience must be booked before the expiry date.

This training helps you understand how electric and hybrid vehicles operate, covering driving feel, regenerative braking, charging, and efficient driving habits.

No, this experience is suitable for all drivers, including those who haven't passed their test. But, if that's the case, we insist that the driver is currently trained to a level where competent with car control. We will need evidence of this from a driving instructor.

Yes, the minimum age is 16, and there is a minimum height requirement of 1.4m.

The session covers how to charge at home and public chargers, different charger speeds, and planning trips to manage range more efficiently.
